American Idol 2026 Finale: Meet the Finalists, Guest Performers, and Everything to Know

The American Idol 2026 finale is here. Meet finalists Breanna Richardson, Jordan McCullough, and Hannah Harper, plus see the full list of celebrity performers and finale details.

After months of auditions, emotional performances, and dramatic eliminations, American Idol is finally ready to crown its newest champion. The iconic singing competition has once again captured the attention of viewers across America as three finalists prepare to battle for the title in one last live performance showdown.

Now in its 24th season, the long-running series returned earlier this year with a fresh wave of talented singers hoping to follow in the footsteps of legendary winners like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jordin Sparks.

Following an emotional semifinal episode that featured the return of original judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, the competition narrowed down to its final three contestants. Fan favorites Chris Tungseth and Braden Rumfelt were eliminated, leaving Breanna Richardson, Jordan McCullough, and Hannah Harper as the last singers standing.

When Is the American Idol Finale?

The highly anticipated three-hour finale airs live on ABC and Disney+ at 8 p.m. ET on May 11. Fans who miss the live broadcast can stream the episode on Hulu beginning May 12.

Voting will once again play a huge role in deciding the winner. Viewers can cast votes through the official American Idol website, mobile app, and social media platforms. Last year’s finale generated an impressive 26 million votes, proving just how passionate Idol fans remain after more than two decades on television.

Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts set a high standard after capturing America’s attention with his inspiring journey from physical education teacher to recording artist.

Star-Studded Performers Set for the Finale

The Season 24 finale promises major entertainment beyond the competition itself, featuring performances from some of the biggest names in music.

Judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan will perform together during the broadcast. The trio is expected to sing Richie’s classic 1986 song “Deep River Woman.”

Bryan will also take the stage solo to promote his latest single, “Fish Hunt Golf Drink.” In addition, he will perform Dwight Yoakam’s hit “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere” alongside former contestant Julián Kalel.

One of the most talked-about collaborations of the night will feature Underwood performing with legendary rock band Mötley Crüe, creating a surprising crossover moment for fans.

The finale lineup also includes appearances by:

  • Clay Aiken
  • Brad Paisley
  • Jason Mraz
  • Nelly
  • Tori Kelly
  • En Vogue
  • Blues Traveler
  • Lee Ann Womack
  • Shinedown
  • Gin Blossoms

The impressive guest lineup reflects Idol’s ability to blend country, gospel, rock, pop, and hip-hop into one major television event.

Meet the American Idol 2026 Finalists

Breanna Richardson

Breanna Richardson, a 29-year-old music teacher from Pensacola, Florida, has emerged as one of the season’s most powerful vocalists.

The gospel singer immediately made an impact during auditions when her emotional performance of Pink’s “Glitter in the Air” brought Luke Bryan to tears. Since then, she has consistently delivered standout performances throughout the competition.

One of her biggest moments came during the Top 20 round when she performed the Beatles classic “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Lionel Richie called it “the greatest performance” he had ever witnessed on the Idol stage.

Richardson is no stranger to television competitions. She previously appeared on BET’s Sunday Best in 2019 and later reached the top of Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart with her song “So Good.” She also made her acting debut in the film Due Season.

Her combination of vocal control, emotional storytelling, and gospel roots has made her a serious contender heading into the finale.

Jordan McCullough

Jordan McCullough is a worship leader from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, whose faith-driven performances have resonated strongly with audiences.

McCullough first impressed the judges with his soulful rendition of “Goodness of God” by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson during auditions. Throughout the season, he has stayed true to his Christian roots while also showing versatility as a performer.

In interviews, McCullough explained that faith will always remain the foundation of his music career, though he hopes to explore multiple musical styles in the future.

Interestingly, his Idol success comes after an earlier setback. In 2019, he auditioned for The Voice but failed to receive a chair turn from any coach. That disappointment now makes his current Idol journey even more inspiring.

Hannah Harper

Hannah Harper has perhaps one of the most relatable stories among this year’s finalists.

The stay-at-home mother of three from Willow Springs, Missouri, balanced raising a family while serving as a worship leader for several years. Before pursuing music seriously, Harper originally planned a career in physical therapy.

Her life changed after she began sharing singing videos on TikTok, where viewers encouraged her to chase her musical dreams. She auditioned for Idol with an original bluegrass gospel song titled “String Cheese,” which explored postpartum depression and deeply connected with audiences.

Carrie Underwood praised the song during auditions, calling it one of the most relatable pieces she had heard on the show.

Harper’s authenticity, emotional honesty, and unique storytelling style have made her one of the breakout stars of the season.

Who Will Win American Idol 2026?

With three talented finalists representing very different musical styles, the Season 24 finale feels completely unpredictable.

Breanna Richardson brings powerhouse gospel vocals, Jordan McCullough offers faith-driven emotional performances, and Hannah Harper delivers heartfelt storytelling rooted in family life and country-gospel traditions.

No matter who wins, this season has once again proven why American Idol remains one of television’s most beloved music competitions.
