Robby Hoffman Reveals Marriage Insights and Career Wins in Candid Podcast Interview

Robby Hoffman opens up about marriage to Gabby Windey, their no-kids choice, her rising comedy career, and personal growth during a candid podcast interview.

Comedian Robby Hoffman is embracing a season of joy, success, and personal transformation — and she’s giving fans a candid look into it all. During her appearance on the Good Guys podcast with Josh Peck and Ben Soffer on December 8, the 36-year-old comic opened up about her marriage to Gabby Windey, how her career has shifted in the past year, and why she feels she’s living a life she once could barely imagine.

“I happen to be living one of the greatest lives I’ve ever heard about — and it’s mine,” Hoffman said with her trademark humor. She shared that she often thinks back to her younger self with pride, amazed by the path she’s carved out.

A Career Reaching New Heights

Hoffman’s professional life has taken a significant leap forward. This year, she joined the cast of HBO’s acclaimed series Hacks, earning praise for her role. And on December 14, her newest stand-up special, Wake Up, arrives on Netflix — directed by fellow comedian John Mulaney. Her rise hasn’t been overnight, and Hoffman made it clear that she’s built her career intentionally and patiently.

“I’ve always moved slowly but steadily. I enjoy the process,” she explained. “I love writing, I love stand-up, and I love a lifestyle where I don’t have to wake up to an alarm. I’m grateful I get to do this every day.”

According to Hoffman, one of the first things Windey understood about her was that comedy isn’t just a career — it’s her entire rhythm of life. “Whether I’m successful or broke, I’m always going to do this,” she said.

A Vegas Wedding and a Happy First Year of Marriage

Hoffman and Windey tied the knot in January, first celebrating in Las Vegas before legally formalizing their marriage. Almost a year later, Hoffman can’t help but gush about how effortless and joyful their first year as wives has been.

“They say the first year of marriage is the hardest, but honestly? We wake up shocked at how good it is,” she said. “I’m so happy every day.”

Before they got married, Hoffman said their dating year brought more challenges — not because of conflict, but because of the big transitions of moving in, blending routines, and navigating life together.

“For us, the first year of marriage feels like the reward. We went through the real work while dating,” she explained. “Now we’re settled. We’re home.”

Their Firm Decision About Having Kids

When the conversation shifted to children, Hoffman didn’t hesitate.

“No kids. Absolutely not,” she said, laughing as she repeated the sentiment several times.

She emphasized that while many straight couples may encounter surprises regarding pregnancy, same-sex couples often face a lengthy and expensive process to pursue parenthood.

“For us, having kids would mean going far out of our way — and it’s not something we have a desire to do,” she said. “We feel complete as we are.”

Gabby Windey’s Success — and Why Hoffman Sees Stardom Coming

In addition to Hoffman’s momentum, Windey is also experiencing her own wave of opportunities. She was recently one of the winners on season 3 of The Traitors, showcasing her competitive edge and reality-TV charisma. Hoffman couldn’t be prouder — or more certain of her wife’s star power.

“We’ve never seen anyone like her,” Hoffman said. “She went from working as a nurse to becoming a force on reality TV, then jumping into podcasting and acting. Watching her find her place in all these worlds is incredible.”

She even compared Windey’s cultural rise to Kim Kardashian, not in controversy, but in her ability to translate personality into mainstream success. “People thought Kim was just famous for being famous — then she built an empire,” Hoffman said. “Gabby has that same spark.”

Learning, Growing, and Evolving Together

Marriage has brought personal lessons too. Hoffman admitted she has a natural instinct to share every thought out loud or to crack jokes in tense moments — habits Windey lovingly helps her refine.

“I’ve learned so much from her,” Hoffman said. “We’re in a refinement stage. When someone truly loves you, they help you grow without asking you to change who you are.”

She explained that being with Windey has taught her that not every moment requires a punchline, and not every feeling needs immediate expression.

“She helps take the weight off,” Hoffman added. “We balance each other.”

A Partnership Built on Humor, Ambition, and Deep Connection

As both women continue rising in their respective careers, their partnership remains a grounding force. Whether supporting each other on long workdays or celebrating milestones together, Hoffman describes their marriage as a place of safety and encouragement.

She ended the podcast on a reflective note, acknowledging how surreal and rewarding her life feels today.

“I can’t believe I get to live this life,” she said. “Every day, I’m stunned by it.”

With a new Netflix special on the horizon, a growing fan base, and a marriage filled with affection and humor, Robby Hoffman is stepping into this next chapter with gratitude and confidence — and audiences seem ready to cheer her along the way.
