The acclaimed actress Diane Ladd passed away at the age of 89 on November 3, 2025, at her home in Ojai, California, with her daughter Laura Dern by her side.

Ladd was a three-time Academy Award nominee for her performances in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974), Wild at Heart (1990), and Rambling Rose (1991), and also earned three Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award.

She shared a close personal and professional relationship with her daughter Laura Dern — the two co-starred in several projects, including Rambling Rose and HBO’s Enlightened, and co-authored the 2023 book Honey, Baby, Mine.

Ladd was married three times — first to Bruce Dern, with whom she had Laura Dern; then to William A. Shea Jr.; and later to Robert Charles Hunter, who passed away just three months before her in July 2025.

Her last film, Blue Champagne, directed by Blaine Novak, is in post-production and will be released posthumously. Diane Ladd leaves behind a lasting legacy of artistry, resilience, and inspiration in Hollywood.
