Edwards scored the deciding basket with a floating shot, putting Minnesota ahead 117-116 with 25.7 seconds left. Gobert then hit two free throws with 10.1 seconds remaining to make the lead three points. Jokic attempted a three-pointer from the corner as time was running out, but he missed.

Even without Murray, Denver went on a 25-3 run to build a 112-102 lead with 4:17 left. Braun added a highlight by dunking over Gobert, who stands 7-foot-1. Braun celebrated with a shout and a shoulder bump into Gobert, who pushed him back in response. Both players received technical fouls after officials reviewed the play.

Minnesota held a 91-85 lead at the end of the third quarter.
